Accessibility
How do I apply for a free accessible companion ticket or access to facilities at the event?
If you require access to our accessible facilities or would like to request a free essential companion ticket, please follow the steps below.
We are working with Nimbus Disability and the Access Card to simplify the request process. You can find more information on Nimbus and our available facilities here.
Step 1: Purchase your WOMAD Glasgow festival ticket here. Do not purchase a ticket for your essential companion.
Step 2: You will need an Access Card or WOMAD Festival Digital Access Pass – you can apply here.
If you already have an Access Card with Nimbus Disability you can skip to step 3.
How to apply for an access card:
- Complete the nimbus application and provide supporting documentation
- Nimbus will assess your application
- Nimbus will issue a digital access code (or an Access Card if you choose to upgrade)
Step 3: Complete our Accessibility Form where you can request access to facilities and request a free companion ticket.
Please note you must have your Nimbus Card or Digital Access code ID number ready.
Step 4: Our team will review your application and confirm your approved access and further information via email.
Our accessible facilities are prioritised for guests with long-term access requirements. While we aim to be as inclusive as possible, capacity is limited and we may not be able to accommodate all temporary or short-term conditions.
If you have access requirements, we encourage you to get in touch ahead of the event so we can discuss individual needs – here.
Traders
What food and drink options are available?
A wide range of street food traders and bars are available inside the event. All traders accept card payments with some also accepting cash.
Can I apply to trade at the festival?
Yes – Traders will be selected as part of an application process and carefully considered pitch allocation process.
Applications will be open soon – Send your note of interest to womadglasgow@glasgowlife.org.uk
Successful applicants will be notified by the end of March
Guardians & Parents
Can I bring a pram or buggy?
Yes – these are permitted on site, but please be aware that the event will be busy and the park has uneven terrain. Listen to instructions from stewards if asked to move your buggy from busy areas for safety reasons.
Do you provide hearing protection for young children?
No. If attending with babies or young children and watching amplified music, we recommend bringing your own hearing protection.
What do I do if I become separated from my child?
Our Welfare Team operates an optional guardianship registration for parents or guardians attending with anyone under 18. The welfare tent is in the main arena next to the first aid. They will provide your young person with a wristband and explain what to do if you become separated or find a lost child.
Our stewards and help teams are available throughout the festival and can assist at any time.
Residents
Glasgow Life will engage with local residents through an engagement programme including newsletters and information drop-in sessions.
Details will be shared via the local community council and posted on our residents page.
Are there free tickets for residents?
Yes – a free ballot will open for local residents, offering the chance to win a pair of tickets for one of the festival days. More details coming soon.
